We will register for early access to these new Sage 50 Accounts features so we can test them out!

Most are not available yet, but the release of Version 31 is laying the groundwork for features to be added throughout the year. Some new services will mean further charges on top of your normal monthly subscription.

  • Sage CoPilot - Currently in an early access pilot and will be rolled out in due course. CoPilot is a dedicated productivity assistant and is an Artificial Intelligence tool which helps you analyse your account data to produce reports and highlight potential problems.

Examples of ways they envisage this working is it can look at invoices due, and assist with credit control by highlighting potential issues. It can help with stock by monitoring stock levels and looking for anomalies in data like unexpected nominal codes tax codes or transaction amounts. It will highlight problems and allow you to correct them or ignore them through the interface.

  • Purchase Automation - Coming in early 2025, this allows you to upload invoices credit notes and receipts and then does the data extraction for you. This will be run with a system where you buy credits to use, but the costs involved are not available yet.

  • Sage Connect - This is a portal which allows you to communicate with customers via a linked portal so they can log in and download their own invoices. It allows automation of messages to your customers to invite them to the portal and send other communications.

It can also provide account balances and overdue reminders. Very much like the invoice-sending and credit control automation you see in online accounts software. Once you upgrade to Version 31 you can request access to this service.

  • 2-Factor authentication - to be rolled out from February 2025 starting with the users of Sage CoPilot and Connected services first. Connected services are Bank feeds, remote data access, invoice finance, GoCardless, Supplier payments and Sage Connect.

  • OAuth - Modern authorisation for email providers which is only relevant if you are sending emails directly out of Sage not via Outlook desktop.

We will endeavour to register for early access to these new features so we can test them out and get used to them then we can support you if you want to use any of these features.

Until next time ...
