I attended an event last week called Xero Refresh, which was for their bookkeepers and accountants community, where they let us know plans in the pipeline. They also gave us a few top tips and tricks too, and it is so true that you don't know what you don't know ...
f you feel you are not getting the most out of your accounts software then do get in touch!
I learned a little trick about using bank rules together with cash coding. I'm now planning a video to show this to my followers so make sure you subscribe to my Silicon Bullet Youtube channel to keep getting the top tips on bookkeeping in general and Xero and Sage in particular.
I am also adding bookkeeping tips content (along with cute videos of Daisy our dog) to TikTok too so if you are on that platform then find Aly Mead and follow me there!
"We also learned about a new Artificial Intelligence innovation called 'Just Ask Xero' or JAX for short!"
This will be an AI support tool where you can talk to your Xero software in plain English asking things like "how much money am I owed at the moment?", or "add this item to quote number 425" via tools like WhatsApp to make interacting with your accounts software while on the go much easier.
They also reminded us that using Hubdoc to upload documents like purchase invoices and receipts is free for any Xero Business Subscription, even their cheapest monthly one for around £16 per month plus VAT, and you can upload receipts via an app or via email.
So, if you are a frustrated bookkeeper who never gets the paperwork from your clients maybe spending a little time showing them how Hubdoc works or getting the app on their phone could help you in the long run.
If you feel you are not getting the most out of your accounts software and might need a hand-holding session to learn the new features or if you want someone to look over what you are doing and suggest improvements then do get in touch and arrange a session.
If anything I've written in this blog post resonates with you and you'd like to discover more about Xero or would like to arrange a hand-holding session, it may be a great idea to give me a call on 01604 217365 and let's see how I can help you.
Alison loves bookkeeping and supporting bookkeepers. She has been helping clients to be better bookkeepers in Sage 50 for over 24 years and has been Xero Accredited in accounts and payroll for a number of years too.
She specialises in a very unique hand-holding method of training, helping bookkeepers and business owners to use their accounts software as and when they need support in setting up and producing their invoices, reports and financial information.
Alison combines her role at Silicon Bullet with her Forever Living network marketing businesses and is often to be seen at business networking meetings as she likes to keep busy.
You know what they say: if you want something done well ask a busy person!
