As both technology and connectivity improves, business owners have been surprised at the growing popularity of video ...

Use your smartphone, use your laptop's webcam; whatever you use, shoot some video, solve some problems, grow your business!

But it's a truth that regularly shooting videos and uploading them to social media does help to grow businesses. Silicon Bullet itself has benefited from the videos that I've been creating, talking about bookkeeping and offering tips, help and advice on Sage and Xero.

"And the ones I do are in no way cinematic extravaganzas! Mine are one-take, straight to camera, and with no editing. Anyone can do it!"

My videos are mostly shot in my car, or on a walk with Daisy, the office dog. I use my phone and just talk about problems that business owners have, give them tips on improving what they're doing, and help them to solve issues they may be experiencing with the accounting software.

I then upload them to YouTube where I can share them out to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and I get lots of great feedback about them. In fact, I got three enquiries just last week, all because people had seen my videos and found value in what I was saying.

Can't think of anything to talk about? Well, what sort of problems are your current clients experiencing? How do you help them? Create a list of 10 questions you've been asked about recently then shoot a video for each and upload them to a YouTube channel then you've got some content to quickly and easily share out.

And don't worry if you don't feel confident in front of a camera. The more you do it, the better you get at it! And you're using your smartphone, so if you fluff up in the middle then just delete it and start again! They don't need to be long, just useful and informative, so why not give it a go?

"Would you like to know more?"

If you'd like to find out more about how video is helping to grow my business then do give me a call on 01604 420057 or visit my YouTube channel and see what sort of videos I'm creating, and how Silicon Bullet may be able to help you.

Until next time ...
