Discover the latest updates on the new Xero home page and its impact on bookkeepers and business owners

The new Xero home page is starting to appear for more organisations, and it is designed to give users a clearer, more useful view of their numbers from the moment they log in. For bookkeepers and business owners, the biggest shift is not just the look, but the thinking.

Xero has worked to make the update feel less like a cosmetic
refresh and more like a smarter workspace!

That means the new Xero home page brings in more insight-rich widgets, including tasks, recently paid invoices, and net profit or loss, so users can spot what matters without digging around. It is the sort of interface change that should save time rather than create it, especially for those who open Xero several times a day.

The layout is also more flexible, which suits anyone who prefers their software arranged logically. Widgets can be moved, resized, hidden and reordered, so each user can shape the page to match their own workflow without affecting anyone else in the same organisation.

That is a thoughtful detail, and it fits neatly with the wider pattern of accounting software updates that aim to reduce friction rather than add noise.

Some users may notice that a few widgets do not always display live figures straight away. This is intentional. For organisations with a lot of data, Xero has adjusted how information loads to keep the page responsive and reliable. In practice, some figures will refresh every 24 hours by default. If something needs checking sooner, the refresh icon can be used to pull in the latest data manually.

The new Xero home page is rolling out gradually, so
one client may see it before another!

That can be useful for teams managing multiple files, as it gives people a chance to become comfortable with the Xero dashboard update before it becomes the norm across all their organisations.

There is also a switch-back option for now, which is helpful for those who prefer to ease into change rather than be forced into it. Even so, the page will automatically revert to the new experience each day, so the transition is intended to feel steady and familiar over time.

Overall, I feel that the new Xero home page is a sensible step forward for users who want faster access to the right information, a cleaner layout, and more control over what they see first.

Until next time ...
