Changes To Sage's Bookkeeping Offerings | With effect from Monday 18th May ... | Posted by Alison Mead on 18/05/2020 @ 8:00AM Sage has announced that Sage 50 Accounts Essentials, which they previously marketed as Sage Instant Accounts Plus, is being removed from sale for new customers ... These changes to Sage accounting software come into effect on Monday 18th May! copyright: kantver / 123rf Many smaller businesses and sole traders thought that Sage 50 was too big a product for their needs, even though the price point was the same as for Xero subscriptions, so Sage has decided to no longer sell this product.
"They've introduced a replacement Sage Business Cloud Accounting product for small businesses instead!"
But don't worry if you are an existing Sage 50 Accounts Essentials subscriber because existing customers will not be affected by the change. If you use it, you'll still get product updates for the foreseeable future and your subscription is secure. This is very much like users of Sage Instant Payroll which was withdrawn some years ago, where existing users get to continue with it.
The good news is that there have been a number of excellent improvements to Sage Business Cloud accounting in the last year, including:
Bank Rules
Correct Transactions
Recurring Invoices
CIS (coming in June)
I have heard better feedback for this than I ever did about Sage One!
I believe that Sage 50c Accounts still remains an excellent choice for many companies with high transaction volumes, complex stock requirements and details Sales Order or Purchase Order requirements. Until next time ...
