Changes To Sage's Bookkeeping Offerings

Sage has announced that Sage 50 Accounts Essentials, which they previously marketed as Sage Instant Accounts Plus, is being removed from sale for new customers ...

Many smaller businesses and sole traders thought that Sage 50 was too big a product for their needs, even though the price point was the same as for Xero subscriptions, so Sage has decided to no longer sell this product.

"They've introduced a replacement Sage Business Cloud Accounting product for small businesses instead!"

But don't worry if you are an existing Sage 50 Accounts Essentials subscriber because existing customers will not be affected by the change. If you use it, you'll still get product updates for the foreseeable future and your subscription is secure. This is very much like users of Sage Instant Payroll which was withdrawn some years ago, where existing users get to continue with it.

The good news is that there have been a number of excellent improvements to Sage Business Cloud accounting in the last year, including:

- Bank Rules
- Correct Transactions
- Recurring Invoices
- CIS (coming in June)

I have heard better feedback for this than I ever did about Sage One!

I believe that Sage 50c Accounts still remains an excellent choice for many companies with high transaction volumes, complex stock requirements and details Sales Order or Purchase Order requirements.
